I discovered another Angel quirk that could greatly confuse instructors if they don't notice it.Responses: Scott Dennis - Lower Columbia College:
In ANGEL gradebook, unassigned grades (blank cells) are not considered zero, and the maximum points of this assignment would not be counted in the course’s total points possible. Therefore if a student has a zero, the instructor needs to enter the number 0 in the gradebook. Leaving it blank will shelter the student from being penalized.
Yes, that is true about the gradebook. By default, students don't get penalized for not having a score until the instructor enters one (zero or something higher), unless, under grade book preferences, you check the "Treat Ungraded Items as Zero" option. If you do that, you want to also edit each assignment and add a release date for when it will start to count in the grade book so that each student doesn't have an "F" overall.
